Be Daring Girls0

Hi! I am finally back! I won’t get into why there was such a long delay in posting. I think that may embarass me because, honestly, I was just being lazy. ; )

So, on my last birthday a good friend of gave me a book called The Dangerous Book for Boys by Conn Iggulden. I was a bit skeptical at first, because, you know, I’m not a boy. But I started browsing through and I became completely engrossed. This is a manual for young boys who want to channel Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn. The instructions and diagrams in tying knots and playing chess and football were actually very helpful. I’ve also always wondered how to do those things. But why isn’t there a similar book for girls!? But not something about how to bake cupcakes or draw hearts and sew a button but real girl stuff. When we were kids we made forts, too and played pirates and told ghost stories.

I was so excited to learn that there is a girl’s version that was recently published, The Daring Book for Girls by Andrea J. Buchanan and Miriam Peskowitz. I haven’t looked through it yet, but I’m guessing it’s loaded with awesome girl stuff. Plus, I like the idea of being a daring girl!
